My husband put this together in no time, my husband is no handyman, and he was able to put this together pretty quick! It’s our main piece in our living room! Love the storage and the top that comes up to you, great place for two ppl to have supper on-works wonderfully!! Love love love this purchase!It’s bigger than expected but nice. It was difficult to assemble bc there are a million different pieces and screws so prepare to make time for that. The part that comes up has to be brought up on either side to come up properly and the springs are so strong it snaps shut when closing so beware of pinching a finger. Other than those two things it’s good for the value.I bought because it was a cool idea thinking that i could use it while eating, watching TV or use it for my laptop. The downside is that i cannot bring it close enough to the sofa because it's a recliner and the leg rest would hit the table. Otherwise i like it.The assembly went really well until i got to the lid. I am a mechanically inclined person and i studied the assembly instructions over and over. I couldn't believe i had to take the lid hinges off 2 times till i got it right. And in the process i stripped 1 screw. I hope others have better luck than me.This table is beautiful and extremely sturdy for the price but if you are not handy in building furniture then I would not recommend. I definitely took two people and the instructions are pretty irresponsible so I actually looked up on YouTube some directions and was able to successfully put it together.PIECES WERE VERY WELL LABELED FOR EASY ASSEMBLE AND TABLE WAS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED FOR TO ACCENT MY SET UP AND STORE PAPERWORK AND WARRANTIES ON ITEMS.The table looks really nice and is so inviting to assemble. They even have closely matching wood grain stickers that cover the pesky silver color of the screws that you see in this product's main photo. But there's a surprise. This is not a coffee table; it's a wooden assembly puzzle in disguise!Hardly able to contain my enthusiasm when the box arrived, I opened the box and jumped to the instructions imagining the beauty of the finished coffee table in my mind. The chance of having my dinner while sitting on the couch and watching the TV also did cross my mind, but let us focus on the table. I looked at the first page, picked up a few parts, and put them together as per the instructions. Bingo! They fit right in! Onto the next step. Soon, I discovered that the parts can be put together in a multitude of ways. However, if you watch the instructions carefully, there are hints! It is a puzzle with hints! There are levels of difficulty you have to cross till you encounter the "boss" level -- attaching the table top to the rest of the table.What could be so difficult you ask. You have gotten so far and this only involves attaching two large pieces together. Except if you proceed with the instructions, this final level requires you to master great yogic balance. If your balance is not good, the thin surface finish unapologetically lets you know by getting scratched. Therefore, I employed a (yoga?) towel to protect the top of the table. Finally, I got it! This is a puzzle, and therefore the instructions may sometimes be misleading, and maybe I should approach it with an attitude that brain beats brawn, and guess what -- a stack of books did beat my balancing powers to hold the top in place while I put the pieces together with screws! Tada!It is also great value for money. Nobody gives you a free puzzle to solve with a great looking coffee table! You just need to approach it with the right mindset. Oh wait a minute, I still have a few remaining parts from that bag of screws ... hmm, now where do they go?Great table, my fiancé assembled in less than 30 min, sturdy, better quality than IKEAThis is heavy and looks very nice in the living room with an L-shaped lounge couch. Just watch little ones hands when closing. Yes I recommend.
